Short Bio:
Fire Water Mountain is an original jam band based in Portland, Oregon. Unconventional songwriting blends with groove-rich instrumentals for a live experience that moves you to dance. The whole is larger than the sum of the parts in this fusion of strings, keys, and percussion that brings listeners on a sonic journey from peak to valley to peak again. Their musical approach embodies the ebb and flow of nature's elements, building and breaking down in an ever adaptive unique style. Trance-like, funk infused livetronic instrumental songs are interspersed with relevant and revealing lyrics creating a dynamic and unique live experience as the band segues seamlessly from intense crescendoing jam to soul stirring ballad and back again.

NEWS/Updates: Fire Water Mountain Returns to Portland Stages with New Line-up and Material
After taking a two year break from public performance, Portland's Fire Water Mountain returns to the live music community with vigor. New material and new members have instilled a fresh breath of fire into this dynamic band, as they hit the ground running with Fall 2018 concert dates. The cornerstone of Fire Water Mountain remains intact with Erik Isakson's electric guitar and unique style of songwriting. With the addition of synergistic drummers Jonas Magnoni and Trent Price on percussion, the rhythm section has solidified into a powerhouse of polyrhythm and dynamism. Matt Fryauf brings his driving bass lines and original songs to provide the funky foundational low-end to the band, while the latest addition of David Shankar on synth/Keys provides multi-faceted sound textures and infinite melodic possibilities. Look forward to well known Fire Water Mountain songs like So Much More, Jezebel, and Bloom to be interspersed with brand new tunes such as Last Standing Dragon, Get It, Who Knows, Moon Pilgrim, Echo Location, and a variety of hard driving, funk-infused instrumental numbers in their ever expansive cache of original music.
